Lisa Morrissey from the Non-Profit Toolbox interviewed Nadine Pfautz owner of Chart Consulting about her upcoming presentation “Yes, It Applies to You also” for the upcoming March 22nd Mini-conference in Rockland. Chart Consulting is a Human Resource consulting firm that works with all sizes for companies and Nonprofit Organizations in a consulting role or acting Human Resource Department.

Human Resources are universal, previously known as Personnel. One of Nadnie’s recent projects is to revise a nonprofit’s employee handbook because they needed to keep it compliant and to address policies around snow days.
The only difference between for profit companies and nonprofit organizations for human resource compliance is if they are receiving federal funds – then they are subject to higher standards and compliance.
Nadine sees challenges for nonprofit organizations in the hiring the right candidates and retaining employees. Now that the economy is looking a little better, employees are tending to look around and see if the grass is greener somewhere else.
Nadine’s presentation will address several hot human resource issues like; independent contractors versus staff, the online life of applicants and discrimination issues in the hiring process, and the issues around technology like social media and blogging.
